A powerful piece of poetry indeed. I think this verse demonstrates the fragility of humankind; every time we sleep we take a step closer to our demise - perhaps in our weakness to comprehend our own decline does it approach us. The triviality of the lexis 'puff' demonstartes the inability of humans to the feel compassion for their counterparts - not on the level of one's individual experience, but for humankind as a whole. Or do I just have sleep on my mind?
