He wakes up early
To get free fish
The sort that swim
Not served in a dish
The end prize is weighed

Clearly the author of the vers is an enthusiastic over the abstract concept of 'free fish' in what can only be interpreted as a graceful stand against the clanky contemporary Capitalism of the western world. The poem speaks of a time when there may be 'no such thing as a free lunch,' but the concept of 'free fish' is never to be overlooked.

He lies-in
Until no more
Can he waste his day in bed
He must get up and use his head
Even if just for a while
Before he succumbs to procrastination's beguile
He'll type, he'll write
He'll delete and undo
He'll lie down some more

Clearly, the author enjoys sleep: the lexis 'lie-in' being a greatly significant aspect of the verse. However,  what is made less clear is whether the bed is an antecedent to his work, or the inhibiting factor of his creativity; which leads us to question - is the bed the creator or destroyer of creativity?

Amply demonstrated by the repetion of the concept of the beverage 'coffee', contrasted against various times of day, is the relationship between the writer and the beverage. Coffee.
