Rain On The Roof

Rain
On the roof
In his ears
Sounds like hooves
Stamping down
On the metal
Building up
Like a kettle
Before the water
Reaches boiling
Point.

Rain

Rain falls heavy
Down
Down
Down
Upon once dry ground
Man embraces droplets cold
As heat dissipates
From his sweating form
Rain pours
Covers all
As if a blanket
Of water

Man's love of rain is portrayed as a natural and organic interest, in this verse, and his wish to embrace it is shown to stem from a desire to better control his own homeostasis: in itself a metaphor for the human condition to want control, dominance, and power.

Rain

Rain
Falling, fallen
Forlorn
Rain
Droplets
Cure the hostile
Pain
Rain
Molecules
Soar toward
Near perfect sphere
Rain droplets
Drown
The hostile
Fear

Let's see, I think this poem may be highlighting the importance of the base elements of our existence: fire, water, earth, and air, and the powerful influence the presence of these natural entities can have on our complex, cocooned, modern existence. Or, it could just be a load of bollox I came up with just now.
