Eggs
Smashed
Upon rocks of
Despair, lying
In oil
Of a thousand
Degrees
How does the yolk
Never
Fail to please.
If I had to take a guess at the message behind this poem, I would infer that 'eggs' symbolize the rebirth of humanity. As such the 'yolk' must logically be symbolic of the fundamental egocentricity of man - which never "Fail[s] to please"; or at least, never fails to please the individual. As a side note: eggs are delicious. Especially scrambled.
